End Polio Now Luncheon
In late February, the Cutten Club dining hall was packed with Rotary Club members and their guests at the "End Polio Now" luncheon, part of the Guelph Rotary Clubs' fundraising campaign to end polio. The event was hosted by the Rotary Club of Guelph-Trillium, and featured a talk by the Honourable Lt. Gov. of Ontario, David C. Onley, who spoke about Accessibility in Ontario. The Rotary Clubs in Guelph are trying to raise $16,000 per year, for three consecutive years. They have raised $7,000 to date for this year. All monies raised will be matched by Rotary International and the Bill Gates Foundation. There are only four countries left with polio - so there is a hopeful end in sight!
