2008 March > Carnevale at La Cucina
La Cucina restaurant hosted its annual Carnevale celebration on Fat Tuesday or 'Martedi Grasso' in February. The theme was Venetian, with masks and fantasy disguises, accordion music by Armando Carere, and selected Venetian wines. The festive menu included: roasted radicchio wrapped in pancetta; black risotto with calamari; salmon with a mustard seed crust; and pork rib with juniper berries & prunes, all designed to indulge the palate before the austerity of Lent.
