2008 March > Guelph's Fittest Kid Vitality Fitness Studio organized the 'Guelph’s Fittest Kid' contest in January, the first local event of its kind. The fitness and nutrition contest was developed to showcase today’s youth in a positive light to counter all the negative press regarding obesity in today’s youth. Five local schools participated with hundreds of children from grades 4-6 and 7-8 participating in the first round. Each school had 12 participants advance to the very challenging final round held at the new Guelph Soccer Dome, where after competing in tests of strength and agility, four students won the honour of being 'Guelph’s Fittest Kid'. Congratulations to Taylor Beech, founder of Vitality Fitness Studio, for organizing this revolutionary new contest.
