2008 May > GW Women in Crisis Fundraiser
The Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis held their 12th annual gala fundraiser at Guelph Place in March. With 215 guests in attendance, approximately $23,000 was raised for Marianne's Place, the Rural Women's Support Program, the Sexual Assault Centre and Transitional & Housing Support Programs. Their 24-Hour Crisis Line responded to 4,637 calls in 2007, while Marianne’s Place Shelter supported 191 women & 128 children. Volunteers have contributed over 9,000 hours to support the organization's services and administration.
