2008 May > Vaudeville at the Museum

Guelph Civic Museum has opened two new traveling exhibits: The “Voices of the Town: Vaudeville in Canada” and “Stories from Ontario’s Movie Theatres’. The exhibits highlight the years before television and radio (1870s to 1920), when vaudeville was the most popular form of entertainment in North America, with fast paced variety sketches, comedy routines, songs, dance, acrobats, amazing feats and unbelievable stunts on stages across the country. Also included in the exhibits are photographs and objects from local Guelph movie theatres such as the Odeon, Capital and Palace Theatres. The exhibits continue until June 22, 2008.
