John Galt Day
While the beginning of July may mark Canada Day, the beginning of August marks Guelph’s annual John Galt Day, which celebrates the founder of Guelph. This year's free festivities, which took place both inside and outside River Run Centre (just metres away from where the first tree was cut down to make way for our city), included Music with Brian and Friends, children's games, crafts & face painting, canoe hockey, a BBQ catered by Platters, a special lecture about John Galt and the beginnings of Guelph, and more. It was a family-friendly affair, as young and old came together to celebrate the birth of our great city!
