City Hall Rink Donation

The Nicholas Lambden Memorial Children’s Foundation has pledged $400,000 toward the construction of an ice rink and water-play area in front of City Hall. The foundation was established by Susan & Andrew Lambden in memory of their son Nicholas who was tragically struck in the head by a hockey puck and died in February 2007. A volunteer community group called the Rink Rats is fundraising for the ice rink project and with this major donation they are now within $296,000 of the $2 million needed. Anyone wishing to donate to the ice rink and water feature, or to learn more, can visit www.guelphcivicsquare.com.
