Shaker True Hoops
While it's a real team effort that keeps Guelph at the forefront of "caring" communities across Canada, various stars on our Guelph team consistently rise above and beyond to help others. Sister Christine Leyser is definitely one such star in Guelph - and I suggest that Steve "Shaker" Cuevas is another! Shaker's commitment to the youth of our city - helping them grow not just on the court but also mature as responsible young adults - is inspiring & refreshing. Shaker's "Ball 4 All" program, which provides boys & girls who can't afford expensive basketball programs with a free program each week at Sacred Heart School, including weekly limo ride, Boston Pizza dinner, and book from the Bookshelf (!), is just one fantastic program in many that Shaker provides.
